Naming, branding and packaging for the first truly sustainable cosmetic line in Romania
Challenge
For over a decade, inner*pride has been the agency of choice for the Musette brand. Crowning this collaboration, inner*pride has developed the branding for a new revolutionary skincare line including naming for the product, brand strategy, positioning and messaging, visual identity, and packaging.
inner*pride worked closely with the CHANAND creative team led by Cristina Bâtlan on this project, carefully aligning strategic and visual cues.

Solution
The name CHANAND reflects the product’s intersection of science-based formula and traditional Asian ingredients and philosophy. CHANAND avoids scientific jargon trying to evoke wisdom and skincare rituals, it is simple and easy to remember.
The wordmark builds on the classic aesthetics of the early 20th century type masters. Precise geometry and carefully studied contrast adds distinctions and makes it unique in an overcrowded competitional landscape.
Au pair with legends such as DIOR or Yves Saint Laurent, the CHANAND logotype is set to become synonymous with premium luxury cosmetics.
CHANAND visual language and packaging sports a minimal look that communicates serenity and utility. The typographic treatment is balanced by a golden vertical dash alluding to a “no compromise” philosophy when it comes to ingredients and sustainability.
Result
CHANNAD is packaged in a sleek, functional cylinder that is both implement and container. Championing sustainability, it comes with refillable containers making it a top choice for environmentally aware customers.
CHANAND has rapidly grown and found its way into the catalogs of famous retailers such as DOUGLAS and it is endorsed by professionals and celebrities alike.
After more than 10 years, the relationship with inner*pride has become somewhat symbiotic. CHANAND has been a self discovery journey for me, as a creator and as a woman. inner*pride, brilliantly gave shape to such an elusive concept.
